OCEJUG Home

Welcome to the Orange County Embedded¹ Java Users' Group home page.

Information

The purpose of this group is to promote the discussion, demonstration and usage of Java as an implementation language for applications that run on systems or devices that are below that of a desktop computer on the continuum of computing devices. This includes cell phones, PDA's and other consumer devices where there is an underlying operating system hosting the Java VM --- e.g., Symbian, embedded Linux, PalmOS --- as well as devices and chips where the Java VM is the host interface to the underlying low-level hardware --- e.g., Dallas Semi's TINI & iButton, Parallax's Javelin Stamp, JavaCard's, and the Systronix JStamp. This list is by no means complete and is not intended to exclude large embedded devices like the navigation system of an aircraft.

Our desire is to explore new and interesting applications and techniques, theoretical and practical, commercial, entrepreneurial and hobbyist, to further our collective knowledge and experience. The group provides services for a comprehensive Wiki (or as comprehensive as it can be), hosting member contributed source code, references material, member equipment sharing and sales, and relevant job postings. Membership is free and open to all.

Please see our Events schedule for information regarding our meetings.

Your membership and participation is very much appreciated. Please feel free to make constructive suggestions for improvements.
